Founder's Day Fireworks

The Mason's are always generous and invite us to the perfect view of the fireworks from their backyard.

This was Logan's first year for fireworks. He didn't cry, but made this face every time one went off.

Smith and Morehouse

Camping, hiking, biking, canoeing, fishing. That's what we did at Smith and Morehouse this weekend. (Scott, Amber, Carter, McKenna and her friend, and Cooper, their dog, were there, too!)

Andrew's Mission Call

It's hard to believe, but my baby boy got his misssion call today. He will be serving in the Korea Busan mission. He will leave on October 6th. Alex will return home from the Korea Seoul mission on October 1st. I am so glad they will get to see each other for 5 days before Roo leaves. I think it will prove to be a great blessing to Andrew that he will serve in Korea, like his big brother did. It will bind them together as brothers in an incredible way for the rest of their lives.

Father's Day 2010

I gave the father of my children breakfast in bed this morning. His 6:30 am meeting had been canceled. Yippee!
We had a cookout in the afternoon. All of our kids and grandkids (with the exception of Alex) were here.

Dave's dad came over for dinner, too.

After 3 pieces of watermelon, including the rind, I wouldn't want to be the one to change Logan's diaper.

Olivia still won't open her eyes for pictures. It was too bright outside.

Logan turns one year old.

When we got to Ash and Jud's for Logan's party, there he was just sitting in the swing. No one was pushing him, and he was just as content as could be. He is a very easy-going, sweet boy. In fact, when I said hi to James, he pointed to Logan and said, "Say hi to your sweet boy Logan, too." Ha! Stephanie gave Logan this Toy Story car with a Woody in it. James confiscated it and said, "Logan can play with the box." Funny thing is, Logan was happy with the box, according to Ashley.

Sisters

Lily just can't seem to get enough of her little sister, Olivia. For this shot, Lily found an old headband and some clip -on earrings in our playroom. The other day Holly said she was wearing her swim suit and snow boots. (Holly and Cody call her Lily Gaga) She is definitely her own girl. But a very proud big sister.

Cody just got a new (used) Beemer convertible and the kids love riding in it. They had just ridden in it for the first time here.

Better late than never

I took pictures of my wisteria a few weeks ago and just now remembered I wanted to add them to my blog, for my book. I think this year was the best ever for wisteria.

Also, my lilacs on the south side of the house bloom several weeks earlier than the ones on the west side. The blossoms on them are huge and when I walk around the corner of the house the fragrance hits my nose like none other. Ahhhhh.

It's about time!
