The park and lunch

Holly had kept Olivia in the car while we flew kites because of the wind.  She let her come out towards the end to see the kite.

I hurried and took this picture of Jack before he got in trouble and had to get down.  (haha I love being a grandma)  Although I didn't tell him to climb up there, I did think it was kind of funny.

At lunch, Olivia had to take out her binkie to have a sip of lemonade.

Logan can zone out the same way Ashley used to do when she was younger.  Ha!

I had that Mary Poppins song in my head all day as I flew kites with grandkids.  We had a blast!  I brought the same kite I used last year - the sea turtle kite from Walgreens (99 cents).  It is small but always, always get up in the sky quickly, which is perfect for little kids.  I also took this same kite to Maui last year and Dave and I flew it on the beach. 

We went to the park by Holly's house this year.

And you know it's a good kite when even 2 year old Logan can get it up in the air by himself.

James showed us that a true Jedi knight, like himself, can fly a kite while holding a light saber.  (I love the true joy on his face in this picture)

Hopefully we can do this again very soon.  The four kids shared the kite without any tears.  But I may go to Walgreens and see if they have any more of them.  I think I can fork out three more bucks for a day like this one!

It's been too long . . .

We haven't been out on our bikes since November.  Yesterday the temps got into the 60's.  Even though Dave and I had gone on a 7 mile run earlier in the day, (And it was so pleasant.  I haven't run in the light for a long time)  we just had to spend an hour this afternoon with Alex at the Ogden River Parkway on a bike ride.  No hint of leaves on the trees yet, and still, it was soooo nice to be pedaling along our favorite trail.

Gotta love the 21st street pond. 

Even with the barren trees, the reflection of the mountains is beautiful to me.

I took this shot of Ben Lomond as we were almost back home.  The snow hasn't even begun to melt yet.

Welcome Springtime.  Lily reminded  me the other day that March 20 is the official day for Spring.  It can't come soon enough.  But today was amazing and with weeks like the one ahead I think I can make it.
