Birthday #55

Alex gave me (and Dave) tickets to the Shania Twain concert for my birthday.   He is such a generous dude.

She sounded great.  But I think I like her better with dark hair.

A wee before my birthday Dave took me to Tokyo Station for tepanyaki.  Delish.

On my actual birthday he took me to Olive Garden and the movie, Mission Impossible.

A couple of Sundays later we celebrated the August birthdays - mine and Ashley's - with a dinner at our house.  We each had our own ice cream pie (to share, of course).

Yep, I got spoiled on this birthday, for sure.

Washington Lake 2015

Our last Uintas trip of the year - Washington Lake.

Saw this guy on our morning run.

Running at 10,000 feet.

We both had a lot of luck fishing on this trip.

We have to do our traditional hike to Wall Lake

It used to be our kids jumping off of these cliffs.

We also took a hike in the other direction from Washington Lake.

Shadow Lake

We checked out of our campsite and were passing Taggart Grill just about lunch time.  So . . .

Manti

I rode with Carrie and her girls down to Manti to visit Debbie and her family and see their new house.
We first met everyone at the University Mall in Provo where they all did a little school shopping.  We stopped at the Krispy Kreme to get hot donuts on our way down to Manti from there. We spent the night in Manti at their new home.

The next morning Debbie, Mike, Carrie and I did a 5 mile run through the town of Manti.

This is where they go to church

We passed the temple on our run.

This is the back of their new home.

This is the view they have from their backyard:

The three of us went to the temple together that morning.  I love the Manti temple.

It isn't very often I get to spend this much time with my two sisters.  I loved every minute of it.

James get baptized

James chose to get baptized and become a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

Not only is he handsome and very smart, but he is just such a nice boy.

We are very proud of him and love him so very much as well.

Mirror Lake 2015

We spent three days, two nights up at Mirror Lake in the Uintas.

There is no doubt why it has that name.  This was how it looked on my morning run.

And it sparkled in the evening as well.

We hiked, biked, paddled and fished away the days.

Is it just me or does anyone else thing this log looks like an overturned crocodile?

Is it still considered camping if you make Belgian waffles with fresh blueberries and cream for breakfast?  Ahh the benefits of a trailer. (That and the whole toilet issue makes me a fan. Plus, safety from bears and lightning are good things too)

The Rodeo

Dave and I took my Mom and Dad to the Ogden Pioneer Days Rodeo.

The sunset that night was incredible.

Birthday Boyz

We celebrated three birthdays in July.   All three of them the "oldest" in a category.

Alex.  Our Oldest Son.

Cody.  Our Oldest Son-in-law.

James (also known as Spidey).  Our oldest grandson.

After dinner we had delicious cake, made by Ashley.

I sure do love these three guys!  I hope they had a happy birthday indeed.
