This is Halloween, This is Halloween

(This post is out of order, but I'll have to fix it when I make my book.)
The kids all came over to trick or treat on Saturday night. Each of these shots really captures their unique personalities. I love them!

The Annual Halloween Party

It had been several years since we had the Niederhauser Halloween Party at our house. But it was our turn to host it again this year. We always have plenty of food. Olivia made a darling mouse.

We ate, had the kids break a pinata, then played the name game while all of the kids watched Toy Story 3. Best of all, we had a great time just being with family, of course.

Kim Chi anyone?

Steph is here visiting from Michigan. It is so fun to have her here. Alex made us all an authentic Korean meal. He went to the Asian market to buy all the stuff. Luckily, they don't sell dog meat there. Haha I don't know how to spell this stuff, but he made us bulgogi, kim chi chi gay, kim chi potstickers, rice. And for dessert Asian pear. I liked the meat the best.

Dave set the timer on the camera for this shot. Blurry, but we're all in the photo at least.

Lily's Special Day

I can't believe "Lulu" just turned five years old. She is one lucky little girl. Her mom made her a Barbie cake that day.

Lily is still really into "dress ups" and "princesses". She got a Cinderella dress, complete with glass slippers.

She also got a "Belle" dress.

Lily is never one to hide her feelings, good or not so good. She squealed with delight at opening her presents.

Jack and James were unimpressed with all that girly stuff. They found some guns that they enjoyed much more. Although they had to be reminded not to point them at people several times.

Little Olivia is going to be set for princess dresses in a few years.

Logan was also unimpressed with princess stuff. Food interests him much more.

Even Great grandpa Grose drove up to the Stowers to celebrate with Lils. Like I said, she is one lucky little girl.

Happy Birthday, Lily. We love you!

Dad Grose turns 88

Or, as he says, "He just turned 16, because 8+8=16". We had him over for dinner on the day of his birth, Oct 14th. We made Philly Cheesesteaks, one of his favorites. But he wasn't feeling very well that day so I don't think he enjoyed it all that much. Even the apple cobbler for dessert was hard for him to eat. On Saturday night we had all of his posterity, that could possibly come, celebrate with dinner at "his kitchen", Golden Corral.

He is an amazing man. He has his priorties in order, that's for sure. Church, family, serving others. Nothing else seems to matter to him. We can all learn from his example. I love you, dad, and feel blessed to have such a wonderful father in law.

Smith and Morehouse

We thought we were pretty much finished with camping for the year. But when Alex said he would love to camp and fish this weekend, since he hadn't been for two years, we said, "heck, why not?" We called up Scott and he and his family as well as Alan's three kids, whom we hardly ever see came, too.

It was quite cold, which made sitting around the campfire even more enjoyable. (Heather Anne,

An Autumn Outing

Alex, Dave and I went on a 23 mile bikeride along the Ogden/Weber River Parkway this past Saturday. It was a perfect morning for a ride.

(If anyone knows how to insert a picture back into a post, into the proper place, when it has accidentally been deleted, please tell me) This picture is supposed to be last. Anyway, after the ride we took Alex to Boccia's. He asked us two years ago, before his mission, to please give them as much business as we could while he was gone, so it would be around when he came home. We took him here to fatten him up, as he lost 31 pounds in Korea. Sad thing is, I ate more than he did here.

The path goes past Fort Buenaventura, Ogden's oldest landmark. The fort was built in 1845.
