Bear Lake 2015

We had a family retreat with everyone but Steph, Jared and Shad (they are in New York) up at Bear Lake.  We stayed at the campground near Rendezvous Beach.

In the picture above, we are looking at what is in the picture below:  two Golden Eagles and their nest.  This was right in our campsite.

We made "smores in a bag" after dinner the first night we were there.

The next morning, after breakfast burritos, we went to the beach.  We spent the entire day there.

We rented a water trampoline.

After the beach we all went to get shakes.  Dave and I got the raspberry shakes that Bear Lake is famous for.

Then we went back to the campsites again.

The last day, we got up and went to Church.  Then had lunch and left for home.  I am pretty sure everyone had a great time on this little family vacation.

The 4th of July - 2015

Dave and I usually run the Cherry Days 5k.  But we were both still injured from our Half Marathon two months ago.

Luckily we got to watch Lily, Jack, Olivia and Holly cross the finish line this year.

We ate breakfast in the park.

Sat by the Mason family for the parade.

Holly had to work, so Dave and I took their three oldest over to the Cherry Days celebrations at the park.

We went over to Holly and Cody's to watch fireworks.  From their backyard we saw the fireworks of North Ogden, Farr West, Riverdale, and several others in the distance (could have been South Ogden, Plain City and Hooper, I think)

I have so much gratitude for all the men and women who sacrificed so much so we could have our freedom.  God bless America.

New York - June 2015 - Day 4

Since Steph will be living on Long Island we got a hotel near where they will live.  We found the nearest train station so we could ride in to the city.

Times Square

The Times Square Elmo is kinda creepy, but not to Shad.

The Flat Iron Building.

We ate lunch at Eataly - one of our favorite places.

9/11 Memorial

Gelato in Little Italy

It was raining in Central Park

Shad had this to say, "mom, the blue guy cut my ticket".  We were laughing so hard after he said that.

Day 5 we just went to Church and then Dave and I had to fly back to Utah.  I think Steph, Jared and Shad are going to have a great three years in New York.  We will miss them, but it is a fun place to visit, for sure.
