Being a grandma rocks!

I took Liv and Jack over to Ashley's house and we joined them all for lunch.

 

Ash put Brigham down for a nap and I stayed at her house with Logan and Olivia while she took James and Jack to school.  She stayed at the school to help in James' class.

These two have so much fun together.

This is a sign that James put on Brigham's door.  It cracks me up every time I see it.

We had Lily, Jack and Olivia spend the night.  I took them to the grocery store.  Liv and Jack got a little silly with the butterfly nets.

The next day we went to Shady Lane park with Ash and her boys.

Could this guy be any cuter?

This one could maybe be cleaner, but not any cuter, either.

Liv is just so darn pretty!

These two suck the marrow out of life.

You can't be sad around these two crazies.

I got to change Mitt's diaper after they got home from the hospital.  He had changed just in the day and half since I had last seen him.  Love.

Field Trippin' it

I took a couple of days off from work to hang out with Holly and

Cody's kids while they were still at the hospital.

 

I was lucky enough to go with Olivia to her preschool field trip to the petting farm.

She loved feeding all of the animals.

She asked to borrow my sun glasses because it really was a bright, sunny day.

I'm not sure which one of us enjoyed it more.  It was a great field trip.

Welcome baby Mitt!

 

Mitt (no middle name yet) came into this world on May 14th.

He was so alert.

Lily, Jack and Olivia and their Grandma Pegge made this sign in their kitchen window to welcome baby brother home.

He looked like a baby burrito all swaddled up.

Seeing baby brother for the first time.

Let me tell you, this grandma couldn't be happier.

Lily is going to be a good helper.

So is Jack.

And Livie, too.

A proud grandpa.

And great-grandpa.

This couple has such beautiful babies!

Welcome to the family, Mitt.  We love you more than words can tell.

Mother's Day 2014

 

I owe my existence to this beautiful woman who gave birth to me.  Mom went without a lot over the years so I could have swimming lessons, piano lessons, braces, etc.  She taught me how to cook, read and SHOP!  I love her so much and feel so blessed to call her Mother.

 

 

And yes, they may have been full of shenanigans from time to time but I wouldn't trade being a mother to these five for anything. 

It has been such a joy watching my daughters become capable, amazing mothers to my grandchildren.  I am so very proud of them.

My sweetheart made me one of my faves - Eggs Benedict for Mother's Day breakfast this year.

On my counter that morning were these intoxicatingly fragrant lilacs that I had picked the night before from our yard.  The entire kitchen smelled great.

Holly and her fam came over for dinner that afternoon.

Then we went out to see my mom.

Views from morning runs

This spring has provided me with some wonderful sights on my morning runs.

 

This was a gloomy morning that was made much brighter with the Dyers Woad along the roadside.  It may be a noxious weed, but it sure looks pretty.

 

 

 

The antlers on the elk at the elk farm are finally getting large.

This llama was totally bored with us.  Tina, you fat lard.

Willard Bay is looking nice.

And honestly, Ben Lomond doesn't get much greener than this.

Running in the light of day beats the heck out of our winter, very dark morning runs.  Yay for Spring! And  Summer is coming soon!

Spring Soccer Games

 

Jack and Lily both played soccer this spring.

 

Cody was Jack's coach.

It was cold, but Liv and I stayed as warm as we could.
