This is Steph and Jared's apartment. It is in a really nice apartment complex. They have a lot of good friends in the same complex. I'm so happy that they do.
This was taken from their back deck. They have a little wooded area in their backyard. Here are their mallard duck friends. Steph likes to throw bread to them. The male is very patient and lets the female eat most of the pieces.
Steph and I drove to Detroit one day to a Detroit Tigers baseball game. It was a blast. They beat the New York Yankees. For lunch we had your typical midwest baseball food - a brat with the works.
I liked how the ball park was right in the heart of Detroit. This fountain went off whenever the Tigers scored.
Could the weather have been better? Probably not. It was soooo nice that day.
We always "root root root for the hometeam" when we go to a pro game. I'm glad the Tigers won.
I took Steph on a little shopping spree and to dinner for her birthday. We had Chicago style deep dish pizza. Delish.
Another day Steph drove me around town so I could see where they spend a lot of their lives. Jared goes to Michigan State. This is the football stadium there. It is immense.

This is driving toward the state capitol in Lansing.

Steph works two jobs. This is Sparrow Hospital. She works on the Women's Floor here. If I ever had to be taken care of by a nurse, I would choose Steph and not just because she is my daughter. She has a wonderful bedside manner.

Her other job is here at this Long Term Care facility.

Here is that cute little nurse herself. She is wearing the necklace Ashley made for her for her birthday. I love the way Steph and Jared have decorated their home. It is classy yet comfy.

Jared made us dinner two nights in a row. He finished his first year of Med school while I was there. The first night I was there he was up until 4:30 am studying for a final. He woke back up at 6:30 to go take the test. So I think he is enjoying his week break. He smoked us some incredible meat out on their deck.

Check out the ribs and drumsticks. Incredible.

Cornish hens with sweet glaze. Wow. Oh, and fresh pineapple spears are in the foil.

Jared and Steph made me a wonderful breakfast on Mother's Day, before I had to fly out.

Their neighbor took this picture of us on their front porch before I had to leave. Check out Steph's cute birthday outfit. I especially love her new shoes. You can't tell from the picture, but they are turquoise and black. Adorable. It was so sad to have to leave them. Thanks for having me, guys. It was a blast!
