My favorite place in the Uinta's, hands down, is Washington Lake. Alex hadn't been there since before his mission, nearly three years ago. So we took a "very quick trip" there - we're talking 26 hours total time spent there. We did basically two things: fish in the canoe and hike. We had forgotten to bring a camera so these were all taken with Alex's cell phone.
We hiked about 6 1/2 miles round trip. We hiked up to Long Lake and Island Lake.
After the hike, we canoed and fished a bit more. I caught 5 fish, Alex caught 6 and Dave reeled in 7. We kept only the one that had swallowed the hook. The rest are back in the lake for someone else to catch.
Uh hum, and not to brag or anything, but my fish was the biggest. hee hee :)
One thing our family is pretty good at is cramming a lot of activity into a very short amount of time. Our vacations are not for the faint of heart. And, very seldom are they relaxing. But they sure are a lot of fun!
