Old timey family photos

While at the reunion, I took pictures of pictures.  So yes, the quality is horrible.  But I wanted to get these because I may not ever get another chance to see some of these photos of my Grandpa and Grandma Niederhauser and other relatives, many of whom are no longer living.  At least now they will be in my blog book for my own posterity.

Grandma Violet Bindrup Niederhauser (my dad's mother)  She was a very classy lady.

Grandpa Alma Joseph (AJ) Niederhauser (my dad's father)  He always had me laughing.

Violet with snowshoes.

AJ and Violet.

Grandpa used to raise ponies.

Grandma with one of her sons (could be my dad, but I'm not sure)

My grandparents had a lovely farm.

Grandma loved animals.

My dad Karren (left), Mark and Kathryn

I can remember my grandparents when they looked more like this.

You never think of your grandma as being so flexible and agile.  This was her in high school.

Okay, this picture of Grandpa was taken in the early 1960's.  He is holding the rope between his teeth.  My dad says Grandpa would even put the rope around his neck.  (Don't ever do this kids.  Not safe!)

Siblings:  Mark, Clare, Kathryn, Lynn, Bruce and my dad, Karren.

This is my great Grandpa Christian Niederhauser.  I never knew him.  He died a few years before I was born.  He came to the USA from Switzerland.

I never knew my Great grandma Katherine Hostettler Niederhauser, either.  She gerw up in the same town of Guggisberg, Switzerland as my great grandpa.  They got married after they came to the US.

These are Violet's parents.  Elizabeth Schenk (from Switzerland) and Nephi Bindrup (from Denmark).  So my dad is 3/4 Swiss and 1/4 Danish.

Grandma, skiing with one of her beloved dogs.

Uncle Mark and my dad on their horses.

Another of my dad's horses.

I love this picture and what Grandma wrote (below) on the back of it.
