Alex rode with Dave and me. We stopped overnight in St. George and then headed down to San Diego the next morning.
We did our traditional stop for lunch in Baker, home of the World's Largest Thermometer, and ate at the Mad Greek.
This bridge, just north of Escondido, is a sign that we are getting close to San Diego.
We hurriedly checked into our time share, which is at the Lawrence Welk Resort in Escondido. Then we drove to Petco Park to catch a Padre's baseball game. Stephanie and Shad drove over from Phoenix and met us at the parking lot and we all walked over to the game.
I love this ballpark.
Shad is such a cutie. Someone just handed him this ball because they thought he was so cute, too.
The Padres beat the Rockies. They had fireworks after the game.
The next morning it was Stephanie's birthday. We went to church in Escondido.
Then we let her choose where to eat her birthday lunch. She chose a Mexican place that Alex found online. It was rated one of the top in the area. It did not disappoint. We all loved our food.
Steph chose flan for dessert. We all shared it. Delish.
Then we just relaxed back at the condo.
Holly, Cody, Lily, Jack, Olivia and Mitt showed up later that afternoon. The kids loved playing in the grassy area between our two units.
We walked over to the pool area. The kids were all in their clothes and weren't supposed to get wet. It started out innocently enough, as they merely dipped their feet in the water.
Then they went over to the splash pad.
No more dry kids.
I have no idea what the name of this tree is but I love it. The flowers look like bottle brushes.
That night we had dinner at the condo and sang Happy Birthday to Steph. Strawberry shortcake was her birthday cake.
