Dave had a business trip in San Diego and I got to join him.
Our hotel was in the Gaslamp District, right across the street from Petco Park.
We had dinner in the Gaslamp several times. The first night was with some of his co-workers.
We had lobster rolls.
If I had a nickel for every picture I have of us at Seaport village over the years, I'd probably have a couple of dollars.
The next day Dave had meetings. So I hopped on the ferry to Coronado.
Luckily I had my good friend, my selfie stick, with me. I mean, I have to prove I was on the beach, right?
You know the food is probably going to be good in a restaurant if, when you go in the restroom, there are live flower arrangements. And, yes, my fish tacos were delicious.
The next day, as Dave walked over to the convention center for more meetings, I took the San Diego Trolley to Old Town.
This picture is kind of a selfie stick fail.
I have always loved the sites of Old Town.
In Old Town I boarded a small "hop on, hop off" trolley tour that focused on San Diego Beaches. The first stop was Mount Soledad, overlooking La Jolla. The cross is a memorial to military veterans from the area.
The we went to the shore in La Jolla. I had to take a picture of the "beach cookies" in a bakery there. Check out the lone seal on a rock near La Jolla Shores in the bottom right photo.
The last stop on the beach dropped us off at Mission Beach.
I rented a bicycle and rode along the boardwalk to Pacific Beach where I bought some Dippin' Dots and enjoyed the view of the waves.
The trolley ended back at Old Town. I had a late lunch of tortilla soup at one of my favorite restaurants there.
That evening we went to a San Diego Padres game. It was their second to last game of the season. And they won, which is always nice when you are a fan.
So thank you, adorable husband, for letting me tag along, once again, on your business trip. I loved it.
