Faves of 2010 - Food

Many of my favorite meals and food of this past year are things that I've had before. But still, they brought me so much pleasure as I ate them.

- The Bento Box at Tona is still one of my all time favorites. I'm not sure how many times I went there this year. Dave and I still think it is the best Japanese food in the state. The sushi is unbelievable.

- We found a new favorite pizza place this year - Settebello's in SLC.

- I love the Rosemary Flatbread at Trio, also in SLC.
-Boccias has the best sandwich wraps. My favorite is the mozzerella, tomato and balsamic vinegar wrap on their freshly baked bread.

-I crave the feta cheese pies called Tiropitaka at the Greek food festival. We have gone every October for probably ten years or more. I always eat two - the equivalent of two days worth of calories, I'm sure. (Butter, cheese, phyllo. What's not to like?)

- This is embarrassing, but I am so excited that there is finally an In and Out Burger closer to where we live. A burger, fries and a chocolate shake there are so delish.

- The red raspberries from our garden.

-Some of my best memories on vacations are of food we have eaten. This year I liked the following food on our trips:
-Chicago: Deep dish pizza at Giordanos. Chicken Marsala and tiramisu at Rosebud. Caramel corn at Garretts.
-England: Beef pie and scones with clotted cream in London at Covent Garden. Cornish pasties at the little stand in Kings Cross Station.
-Scotland: Neeps and tatties at a very cool pub in Edinburgh. (Acutally they weren't all that good, but I just like saying "neeps and tatties" because it is so Scottish.) -ps - neeps are mashed turnips and tatties are mashed potatoes.
-Our camping trips in the Uintas: A burger, fries and Oreo shake at High Mountain Drug.
-California: Greek lemon chicken salad and breadsticks at Pat and Oscars. I d'eclaire at Claim Jumper. Oreo milkshake at Ruby's. Dole Whips at Disneyland.

-Grand Canyon - A turkey, cream cheese and cranberry sandwich in a little podunk place called Jacob Lake. Also I had one of the best cookies in my life there - chocolate chunk shortbread.

(This is really naughty but I am typing this right now on Fast Sunday. )
