-Well, the first thing I "learnt" this year was that "learnt" is really a word. The people in Scotland, and maybe the whole UK?, use this word all the time. I like it.
-I learnt to "walk it under my feet" when feeling offended by something someone has said or done. This saying came from the prophet Joseph Smith. Elder Neil Anderson quoted it in this past October Conference when he said, "When Parley P. Pratt, in 1835 was judged unfairly, bringing embarrassment and shame to him and his family, the Prophet Joseph Smith counseled, "Parley, walk such things under your feet and God Almighty shall be with you." To me, this meant to not dwell on things other people have said and done, but to move on and forget about it. Although, I don't think a person has to be a door mat and just accept rudeness. But you have to let it go at some point. And the sooner you do the happier you are and the better you sleep at night.
- I also liked the saying, "Cry me a river, build me a bridge, and get over it." This pretty much goes along with the "walk it under your feet" attitude. We really can never control what others do, only what we do. I can choose to not be offended.
-Not only does eating chocolate in the evenings keep me awake at night, but eating anything with MSG in it does as well. I learnt that MSG causes restless leg syndrome and it is in so many foods. Every single can of Campbells Soup has it in. And also, Yeast Extract is the same thing as MSG and reacts the same way. So it is deceiving if a food product says no MSG, but when you read the label it says Yeast Extract. Big fat liars!
-Watering all my flowers with "Miracle Grow" once a month makes my flowers a gazillion times healthier and the blossoms are bigger and there are more of them as well.
