Easter Weekend

To kick off our weekend we started Saturday morning with a bike ride.  We went up City Creek Canyon again.

We got about a mile further this time.  We probably could have gone all of the way to the top but we ran out of time.

The kids came down that afternoon for our family Easter celebration.   Dave and I gave the grands their Easter surprises and then had an egg hunt in the "Social Room" in our building.

Can't get enough of Brigs.

We had a simple lunch this year.  No matching tablecloths or anything.  It's all in our storage unit along with most of my "cute" Easter decorations.  No one seemed to mind.

Everyone left that evening but Alex.  He stayed and we took a tour of the Beehive House.

Then we went to the Jazz game that night.  The camera battery was dead so Dave took this on his phone.  I finally gave up trying to turn the picture.  It is what it is.  I did catch a ball at the game and the Jazz won the game.  So it was pretty fun.

Easter Sunday we tried to make it a little bit nicer than usual for the people at the homeless branch where we serve.  Last week there was a record 49 people who came.  But this week there were only 41.  We served a light brunch for them afterwards.  We are still meeting at the Joseph Smith Memorial Building.  We are only able to hold sacrament meeting and then have to get everyone to leave within 30 minutes or so.  Almost every person there wants to talk to our branch president.  Dave has to set up appointments for them during the week.  He and the branch presidency go to the homeless shelter every Tuesday and Thursday night and counsel with the people there.  We sisters aren't supposed to go there.  We went once but it isn't a safe place for us.  So we only get a few minutes after church on Sundays to get to know the sisters who come.  We are going to be getting our own building in a few months and then we can hold official Relief Society meetings, Sunday and weekday and that will be wonderful.

Later on Sunday we went out to my parents for thier annual dinner and Easter egg hunt. None of my married kids were there.  Holly and Ash were at their in-laws celebrations.  I spoke later with Steph and they got to celebrate with all of thier friends in Michigan.

My two kids who came got to hide the eggs this year.  Andrew put some in the thorny rose bushes and one on the roof.  Nice.  I think Jake got those.

The weather was so nice.  Carrie is holding Spencer's baby, Gabi.  She is so fun to squish!

Carrie, Debbie, Mom, me and Tammy.

It was a very Happy Easter.
