We got on our ship, The Majesty of the Seas, early that afternoon. It was raining off and on. But it wasn't too bad. At least it was warm.
The next morning when we awoke we were in Coco Cay. This is an island owned by the cruise company and so the passengers and crew from our ship were the only ones on the island that day. We had to tender (take smaller boats) to get to the island from our ship.
They had a little shopping area set up. I got a Christmas ornament that says "Coco Cay Bahamas" on it.
There were hammocks set up all over the island.
But my VERY favorite part of the day, in fact a highlight of the entire trip for me, was our kayaking/snorkeling adventure there.
We kayaked over to another small island and got off on a sandbar. We found starfish, conch, sea anenome and saw a stingray. I loved it. Dave is holding one of the conch shells he found. Right after I took the picture a creepy conch animal slithered out.
This is a view of our ship from Coco Cay.
These are the people we shared a table with each evening at dinner.
Dimitri (from Russia) spoke very little English, Dierdra (from Florida), her mother Carol (who lives half of the year in Mexico and the other half in a motorhome touring the country) and Dave and I. If you look closely you can see my face getting wider and wider in each picture on this trip. We ate like little piggies.
Dave and I both noticed that about two-thirds of the people on our ship spoke a language other than English. It was a very international group of cruisers.
