Cali Trip - Part four

The next day we went to the San Diego Zoo Safari Park (formerly the Wild Animal Park).  It had changed quite a bit from when we used to go there years ago.

Lorikeet Landing is pretty much the same, though.  Dodging bird poop from above while trying to get the birds to perch on your arm and drink nectar.  James and Logan loved it, though.  And the birds are absolutely beautiful.

We had a very informative guide on the safari tram.  She told of how the park has helped save 70 different species from becoming extinct.  (I least I think she said 70?)  It was a lot, I know that.

One of my favorite new parts of the park was watching the "Cheetah run".  Since they run so fast I couldn't get a photo of it, though.

On the way out of the park we had to stop and watch the meercats.  Sometimes when we have seen them in years past, they do this thing where they fall over like they have fainted.  It is so fun to watch.  I think meercats and puffins are my two favorite animals.  Not only are their names fun to say, but they are just so unique and seldom seen in zoos.

The boys were good little guys considering we did a lot of walking that day.  It was fun to be with them.
