We took Dave's dad with us on a quick little camping trip. He loved getting out of doors and enjoying the fresh air.
We had intended meeting Scott and family at Smith and Morehouse. But he had left before us to go up there and called us to say the campgrounds were full. We all ended up camping off the side of the road, not in a campground. But it was really a lovely spot. Wild flowers were blooming. We could hear the sound of the river not far from us. And all of us were able to camp next to each other.
Some very handsome Grose guys.
Lisser and Riley
Carter and his friend, Shantz.
Alyssa and Riley brought some friends. Their little boy, Jax, looked so much like Shad. He was a sweetheart and a great little camper. We never even heard him cry.
We were very excited to try out our new kayaks. We had camped about 10 minutes away from our favorite lake, Washington Lake. So we drove over there and spent about two hours, while the others' hung out with Dave's dad.
I like how easy kayaks are to maneuver. Much easier than our canoe.
We even caught a few fish before heading back.
It was a quick, but rather pleasant, little trip.
