Smith and Morehouse

We took our first camping trip of the year up to Smith and Morehouse.  We snagged a great campsite.

The wildflowers were in bloom.

The afternoon we arrived we tried fishing the river near our campsite first.

The water was raging from the snow runoff.

Then we took the canoe out onto the reservoir.

The paddling was sublime.

The next morning we went on a chilly, early morning run.

Seriously, can you have a better view on a run?

Good morning, Smith and Morehouse!

We hurried back up the hill and over the bridge, back to our trailer.  It's not easy to catch your breath when the altitude you are running in is over 9,0000 feet.

But we were anxious to get in one more canoe ride before we had to head home in the early afternoon.

And so begins another summer with some mountain fun thrown in, from time to time.
