Washington Lake

We have been going to Washington Lake in the Uinta Mountains for many years now. Some may call it a sickness, but no matter where we go on a vacation, we try to cram in as much as possible into every day there. We were here for just over 24 hours but we managed to do so much in that short time.

Steph and Jared had flown home to get their other car to drive back to Michigan. So they came with us on this little trip. They also brought Jared's little sister, Alena, with them. Ashley, Jud, James, Logan, Dave, me, Andrew, Scott and Carter were also enjoying this camping trip.

After an afternoon of fishing and canoeing we had tin foil dinners, dutch oven cobbler, and a new thing - breadsticks cooked over a fire. (You wrap refrigerated bread stick dough around marshmallow roasting sticks and toast them over the coals. Talk about a hit. Everyone loved them. The garlic ones seemed to be the favorite.)

Breakfast was waffles with strawberries, raspberries and whipped cream. Along with blueberry pancakes, eggs and bacon.

After breakfast we continued our tradition of hiking to Wall Lake. Love it.

Of course, a few brave souls have to "jump in the lake" from various cliffs. This is Roo getting ready to do it:

Mid air:

No, it wasn't warm water.

Alena tried it, too:

Perfect time of year for wild flowers. I tend to be a straggler on hikes because I am always taking pictures of something or other.

Jud is one buff dude. He carried both of his boys on the way back.

It seems like everytime we get home from a camping trip, we ask ourselves, "ok, now when is our next trip?" Yep, we're kind of spoiled.

Great post! Looks like a fun, fun trip! That pic of Dave with a kid on his shoulders looks just like Dad! I did a double-take on that one! Wow!

That looks so fun. We try to cram as much as we can into our trips too. I always have a schedule. We call ourselves the Kamikaze Tourists.
