Niederhauser Reunion 2012

This year we had the Niederhauser Reunion at Lava Hot Springs.  It was held this past Thursday, Friday and Saturday.  We stayed at the KOA campground.  Everyone stayed in cabins there except for Dave and me, and Jud and Ashley.  Holly and Cody stayed in our trailer with us.  My parents, uncle, grandma and 4 of my 5 siblings and their families were there.  We were missing the 3 missionaries serving in Korea, Washington DC and Texas.  We were also missing a few of the teens and the married kids who had work commitments, etc.  But most everyone was there.

At first I was nervous about the river being so close to our campsite.  You can see it just a few feet from our picnic table here.  But the little ones were pretty good about not getting to close to it.  We threatened them and told them scary stories about kids who drowned in rivers.  Plus, it was very slow moving where it passed by us.  So that was nice, too.

Lily spent many hours doing crafts.

Soon most of the other girls joined her in crafting.

We had two group meals - one breakfast and one dinner together with everyone.

James is going to balance his breakfast burrito while riding a tricycle.

We spent most of Friday at the Lava Hot Springs swimming pool and water park.

Cody is upside down (on the left) and Dave is just below him on the right.

We snagged a nice, shady spot.

Carrie's family wanted the sun.

Looks are deceiving.  This is a very steep slide.  Jud is the one going down it in the picture.

Lily just came out of one of the "twirly" slides.

The next morning Dad, Mom, Nana and Billy came over to our trailer and Dave made them Belgian waffles.

Then after checking out at noon Dave and I went in to Bancroft to visit his Aunt Denise, cousin Deline, and cousin Charlie.

As we drove home we got a flat tire on the freeway just outside of Garland, UT and drove slowly in the emergency lane until we could get off at an exit.  We had to wait 2 hours for AAA to come change the tire as Dave didn't have a jack to fix it himself.  Other than that little glitch, it was a great three days.  Thanks to Steve and Tammy who were in charge of the reunion this year.  We made some super memories with the fam!
