Korea Trip 2012 - Part 6

We met a member, that Andrew had become good friends with, named Gook Hyng Mi, at a very nice buffet in Shin Gyung, a part of Ulsan.

She was such a sweetheart and we really enjoyed meeting her.  She cried when we left.

Then we took a train to Hogye.  We had a bit of time before our train to Busan so we asked a taxi driver if he could take us to a very famous Buddhist temple called Gyung Ju, nearby.  He was so impressed that Alex and Andrew were fluent in Korean that not only did he take us there, but he told us that it would be hard to find a taxi back.  And since we were going to be in a hurry to catch the train, he would wait for us and not leave the meter running.  And then when we got there, he got in his trunk and gave us umbrellas to use.  He was so nice to us.

This temple is one of the oldest in Korea.  It was not completely destroyed by the Japanese and it is very special to Koreans.

Koi in the ponds.

In Hogye we met a recently reactivated family Andrew worked with.  The two sons got baptized.  The father was named Jang Myung Jin, the two sons were Sung Yung, Sung Hwan.   We thought we were just meeting the father for a minute at the train station.  But when we got there he told us to come to his van.  His whole family was in there.  The four of us got in, with all of our luggage and they took us to dinner.

The two boys love Andrew.

We took a picture of Andrew on this bench in the subway because last year he sent us a photo of him and his companion on this same bench.
