Founder's Day

We celebrated Pleasant View Founder's Day by running their 5k.  We both got a Personal Best Time on this mostly downhill run.

Registration also included breakfast afterwards.  So much for any calories I may have burned in the race.

We met the Mason family later that morning to watch the Pleasant View Parade, complete with tractors, horses, Weber High band and plenty of candy for the boys to scoop up off of the asphalt.

That afternoon we went to the air show at Hill Air Force Base.  It did not disappoint.

I got kind of choked up as they were playing patriotic music, dedicated to those in the armed forces and their families.  I'm so thankful for their sacrifice on my behalf.

It was fun to see the Thunderbirds after they landed on the runway.

That night we watched the Pleasant View fireworks as they were shot off from Weber High.  We are lucky that Jud's parents invite us to view them every year from their backyard, which overlooks the stadium.  We can see the entire valley and the fireworks are at eye level.

I have lived longer in Pleasant View than anywhere else in my entire life.  It has been good to us.  And we have made so many wonderful memories here over the years.
